Who we are
Proudly managing Albert S. Nader Regional Airport for today and tomorrow.
History of the Oneonta Municipal Airport
The Albert S. Nader Regional Airport, also known as the Oneonta Municipal Airport, has been a cornerstone of air travel in Otsego County for decades. Its runway officially opened on September 17, 1966, and quickly became a vital hub for both recreational and professional aviation. Over the years, the airport has trained pilots, welcomed dignitaries, and even served as the starting point for astronauts who honed their flying skills here.
In 1988, the runway was extended to accommodate modern jets, marking an important milestone in the airport’s growth. By the mid-2010s, further improvement plans were set in motion by the Airport Commission, ensuring the facility could meet evolving aviation needs while continuing to support tourism and business development in the region.
New Operations Under Hawkeye Aviation
In 2025, Hawkeye Aviation LLC became the new Fixed Base Operator (FBO) for the Albert S. Nader Regional Airport. As a locally rooted company, Hawkeye Aviation is committed to providing high-quality fueling, property maintenance and pilot services while ensuring the airport continues to thrive as a welcoming gateway to Central New York.
Our vision is to enhance the traveler experience, support private jet and charter operations and ensure the airport remains a proud asset for both Oneonta and the surrounding communities.
